About William Toal
William joined the Wilsons Public Law and Human Rights department as a caseworker in December 2025 and became a trainee solicitor in July 2026. He is expected to qualify as a solicitor in 2028.
Prior to joining Wilsons, William studied Politics and International Relations at the University of Kent. His dissertation focussed on the disproportionate effects of climate change on developing countries, and the case for expanding international climate finance from historically high polluting industrialised states.
William primarily works on judicial reviews, with a focus on challenging age-assessments and unlawful detention. Interests: Cooking, eating, camping
