About Orla Gill

Orla joined Wilsons as a caseworker in 2022. She is registered with the Law Society Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme. Orla is currently studying the GDL part-time at BPP University.

Before joining Wilsons, Orla volunteered as an immigration caseworker at Hackney Community Law Centre assisting survivors of domestic violence to apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK. She has also volunteered as a Housing Advisor in BPP’s Pro Bono Legal Advice Clinic.

Prior to studying law, Orla spent several years working in communications and campaigns for immigration charities including AVID (Association of Visitors to Immigration Detainees) and ILPA (Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association).

Orla received a first-class MA in Global History from the Free University and Humboldt University in Berlin where she specialised in the history of gender, decolonisation and nationalism, and worked as a research assistant in Migration History.
