About Harry Clayton

Harry studied History at the University of Leeds, graduating in 2016. He joined Wilsons in 2018 and became a caseworker in the Family Department in August 2019. Harry completed the GDL in 2020 and achieved a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course in 2022. He was admitted as a solicitor in November 2022.

Harry trained exclusively in the family department and is experienced in a wide variety of family law issues. Harry enjoys advising clients in relation to private law children work, public law children work for parents, divorce/ financial remedies, and Family Law Injunctions.

He has a particular interest in Children Act work, especially representing parents in care proceedings. He has worked on complex cases involving allegations of non-accidental injuries and cases where the Official Solicitor has instructed our firm. Harry has experience of working with clients with mental health conditions and learning difficulties. He thinks it is important to build positive working relationships with clients to help secure beneficial outcomes for their children.

Harry also enjoys financial remedy work and has experience of cases involving substantial assets and lower income and asset cases. Harry is committed to working with clients to try to ensure that amicable agreements can be reached between parties. He is a member of Resolution and will always aim to ensure a conciliatory approach to resolving all family disputes.

Prior to joining Wilsons, Harry volunteered with the Human Rights Organisation Liberty . He also volunteered at his local Citizens Advice Bureau . He is also a member of Young Legal Aid Lawyers and is committed to ensuring access to justice for some of the most vulnerable members of our society.
