About Elena Marquez

Elena was awarded a degree in Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Malaga, and qualified as a Spanish Lawyer in 2013. She moved to the UK in 2016 and completed an LLM in English Law at Kingston University in 2018. Her postgraduate dissertation focused on the negative effects of globalisation on developing countries.

Elena then worked for several months as a caseworker in London for Bail for Immigration Detainees (BID) a charity assisting migrant detainees to help secure their release from prisons or removal centres.

Elena joined us in 2019, initially in our administration team. She became a caseworker in our immigration team in 2020 and became a Senior Caseworker in 2021. She is registered with the Law Society Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme.

She has an active asylum and human rights caseload and undertakes both legally aided and privately funded work.

Elena has a particular interest in acting for vulnerable clients including people with learning disabilities, trauma or mental health problems, and victims of trafficking, domestic violence and torture.

Interests: Reading novels, running in nature, and sun worshipping.
