About Amy Yates

Amy studied Law at London South Bank University and graduated in 2021 with a first-class honours degree. She then studied the Legal Practice Course with an integrated Masters in Professional Legal Practice with the University of Law and graduated in 2022.

Whilst Amy was studying Law at London South Bank University, she founded and ran the University’s Debating Society which was awarded Society of the Year at the South Bank Students’ Union Awards 2021. Amy also volunteered at the University’s Legal Advice Clinic as a Legal Adviser. Prior to joining Wilsons, Amy worked as a Paralegal at the National Centre for Domestic Violence. She assisted clients in obtaining protective injunctions.

Amy joined Wilsons in June 2022 as a caseworker in the Family Law Department and was admitted as a Solicitor on 1st January 2025. Amy is passionate about family law and has a particular interest in working with victims of domestic abuse and working to minimise the effects that an abusive household can have on children. Amy undertakes work in many areas of family law, including care proceedings, private children matters, divorce and matrimonial finances and protective injunctions.

Amy is a member of Resolution and follows their Code of Practice which promotes a constructive approach to family issues and considers the needs of the whole family.
