About Amelia Meldau

Amelia is a Solicitor and IAAS Supervising Senior Caseworker in the Immigration Department. She joined Wilsons as a Caseworker in 2018 and qualified as a Solicitor with us in April 2022. She began supervising in 2023.

Amelia has extensive experience of working on complex asylum and human rights applications and appeals, with a specific interest in claims from central Asia and the middle east. Alongside this, she regularly undertakes complex judicial review matters in both the High Court and the Upper Tribunal.

Throughout her time at Wilsons, Amelia has worked with clients in the most vulnerable circumstances. She has acted for clients in the middle of conflicts or humanitarian crises in Afghanistan, Diego Garcia, Gaza, Lebanon, and Ukraine.

Amelia has a broad and comprehensive understanding of the immigration rules. She is regularly instructed to prepare applications for UK visit visas, leave to enter or remain in the UK and settlement. She also advises on and prepares applications for British nationality, including naturalisation and registration.

Amelia delivers robust advice and applies a conscientious, forensic, and rigorous approach to her cases, achieving positive outcomes, including in highly complex cases.
