About Adam Spray

Adam initially joined Wilsons in 2013 as a caseworker in the immigration department. He then undertook a training contract and worked in the immigration, family, and criminal departments. He qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and decided to specialise in immigration law.

He worked in our immigration department as a junior solicitor before leaving in late 2018 to work as a legal manager for the charity Bail for Immigration Detention(BID). In 2022 Adam returned to work at Wilsons as an Associate Solicitor in the immigration department.

Adam is an experienced specialist in immigration, asylum, and human rights law. He has worked extensively with people detained under immigration powers and vulnerable adults, including victims of torture and victims of trafficking. Adam also has a large personal immigration caseload including family and private life applications. He works on both legal aid and private cases.

Adam also has wide voluntary experience having given time to the charities, Beyond Detention , Micro-Rainbow , Body and Soul and The South Asian Human Rights Documentation Centre . He is a former trustee and secretary to the Association of Visitors to Immigration Detainees .

Adam supervises the SOAS Detention Law Clinic.
